S&P Dow Jones Indices and Pantera Capital have launched the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index, which includes 18 cryptocurrencies selected based on their real revenues. Ethereum, BNB, and Solana are among the leaders, while Bitcoin, XRP, and memecoins are excluded. The selected assets generate over $3 billion in annualized revenue. To be included in the index, an asset must demonstrate measurable revenue, sufficient liquidity, significant market capitalization, and an established market history. The index weighting limits the first position to 35% and subsequent positions to 20%, with quarterly rebalancing. The index targets institutional investors seeking structured exposure to the cryptocurrency market that generates revenue. Currently, the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index is a benchmark index without an associated financial product, although discussions are underway to create ETFs based on its composition.
