Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss have contributed $10,018,464 (approximately 1.6 billion yen) in Bitcoin to the pro-Trump super PAC "MAGA Inc." According to Federal Election Commission documents, Cameron sold 79.35 BTC and donated $5,006,604 on June 19. Tyler also sold 79.35 BTC on the same day, donating $5,011,860. The contributions were made 23 days after the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a motion to dismiss a $5 million settlement with Gemini. The settlement was reached in a case where the CFTC alleged that Gemini made false statements regarding its Bitcoin futures business, avoiding a jury trial set to begin on January 21, 2025, the day after Trump’s presidential inauguration. CFTC Chairman Michael C. Selig indicated that the Winklevoss brothers were politically targeted under the Biden administration at that time.
