XRPL Infrastructure Operating Steadily After Attack
Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz shared operational data from critical nodes in the XRP Ledger ecosystem between August 25 and September 8. He noted that the system has fully recovered and is functioning robustly after the attack. XRPL refers to the distributed network infrastructure where XRP transactions are recorded. During the infrastructure crisis on July 31, attackers had overwhelmed the network with fake data that mimicked the credentials of validator nodes. This situation led to nodes wasting resources processing unnecessary data. However, the finalization of blocks and the consensus process on the network were not disrupted. Developers managed to control the issue with an urgent engineering intervention, and the xrpld 3.2.1 patch was released. According to Schwartz's shared data, the central node stably handled approximately 400 simultaneous connections, with a peak connection count reaching 423. The latency dropped to 165 milliseconds. A disconnection rate of 84.6 per five-minute interval was deemed normal. The updated protection mechanism reduced harmful traffic indicators to nearly zero and filtered out a significant portion of suspicious data. The data indicates that the XRPL infrastructure is ready for long-term and stable operation.
