AILA, a Saudi company specializing in educational technology and AI-powered personalized learning, has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round.
The round was led by Rua Growth Fund, with participation from Jo Academy, 500 Global, Bunat VC, and Fikr Ventures. Jo Academy, a Jordanian edtech company with a growing regional presence, joined the round as a strategic investor, leveraging its expertise in education and digital learning.
AILA develops technologies that help students learn according to their individual needs. Its platform identifies learning gaps, customizes content and training, and provides students with support based on their progress levels. It also offers teachers and school administrations clearer insights into student performance to help them identify areas needing support.
The company's products include AILA Tests, an AI-based learning platform that provides customized test preparation for schools, and AILA Labs, the company's research and development center dedicated to researching, developing, and testing new AI-powered educational solutions.
The new funding will support AILA in three key areas:
Youssef Al-Sayed, CEO of AILA, stated, "This investment allows us to deliver personalized, AI-driven learning to a larger number of students at a time when educational systems across the region are re-evaluating the potential that technology can provide."
Alaa Jarar, CEO of Jo Academy, remarked, "Arabic-speaking students deserve learning experiences designed specifically for them, not just translated experiences. AILA is leading this trend in the region, building AI-based educational solutions from the ground up, and its penetration among Saudi schools reflects how well its product fits the market. We invested in AILA because we believe the future of edtech in this region will be built here, by local innovators like AILA."
Turki Al-Juaib, co-founder and managing partner at Rua Growth Fund, said, "AILA is building an AI-based assessment platform that helps schools and teachers understand each student's level, identify learning gaps, and direct support to the most needed areas. We were impressed by the team's ability to turn assessment data into actionable insights for teachers and targeted training for students. We are proud at Rua to lead this round and support Youssef, Abdulaziz, and the AILA team in expanding AI-powered educational solutions for schools and educational systems in the region and beyond."
This investment represents the next phase of AILA's growth. In addition to financial support, investors are providing their expertise, networks, and market knowledge to help the company enter new markets and build partnerships in the education sector.
In the long term, AILA aims to become a leading AI-based educational platform, providing high-quality personalized learning to a larger number of learners.

Moderna shares more than doubled on 19 August 2026 after Merck and Moderna said the Phase 3 INTerpath-001 trial of intismeran autogene plus KEYTRUDA met its recurrence-free survival endpoint in resected melanoma. This page explains what the result is, why the stock reacted this hard, what is still unknown, which dates come next (presentation and earnings, both unconfirmed), and what a trader can actually do on WEEX — which does not list Moderna; the nearest instrument is the XBI-USDT biotech ETF perpetual. Long-end U.S. Treasury yields surged to multi-year highs, pressuring technology, semiconductor, storage, and optical communication stocks and driving a clear cooling in market risk appetite. At the same time, Anthropic’s revenue came in below some bullish expectations, prompting investors to reassess the AI growth narrative; Unitree Robotics officially listed on the STAR Market, extending momentum in robotics and embodied AI; while SpaceX and other commercial space names showed relative resilience. Investors are now focused on tonight’s Federal Reserve minutes for clearer signals on the policy path and broader market sentiment.
