However, the judge has now issued an order to stop Apple from charging these commissions on sales outside the App Store.The legal decision could serve as a milestone for crypto and crypto-based apps, as developers can now bypass the fees. As developers take advantage of this opportunity, the crypto space might likely witness a flood of crypto apps on the U.S. App Store.Apple to Appeal, But Comply for NowMany had critiqued Apple for its policy, describing it as anti-competitive behavior that stifled growth in the sector. Epic Games sued the tech giant because the games store believes NFT game demand is rising and must be met.Apple has confirmed that it will appeal Judge Gonzalez-Rogers’ decision in a notable development. In a statement by Olivia Dalton, the company’s Senior Director of Corporate Communications, “Apple strongly disagrees with the decision.”However, it has agreed to comply with the judge’s ruling and court order pending the appeal process. External links are now allowed on the U.S. App Store.The permission is only applicable in the U.S., as Apple still restricts certain crypto apps that could allow crypto mining outside the U.S. Additionally, app projects that gift crypto rewards to users for completing tasks are still restricted.Could Fortnite’s Return Signal Crypto’s Rise in the App Store?Meanwhile, according to Epic Games, its renowned Fortnite game, which was delisted from the App Store in 2020, will return soon.
