Baidu Sponsors the OpenClaw Open Source Project, Becoming the First Domestic Tech Giant to Support the "Lobster" Ecosystem
BlockBeats News, March 14th, Baidu's Open Source Office recently announced sponsorship of the open source project OpenClaw on GitHub, becoming the first large Chinese tech company to provide funding support to the project.
The day before, OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger invited Baidu to collaborate on the project on a social media platform, hoping that Baidu would not only deploy the project but also support its development. In less than 24 hours, Baidu completed the sponsorship on GitHub.
According to the introduction, the sponsorship funds of OpenClaw will be used 100% for community contributors and upstream open source projects, including developers who submit code, fix bugs, and develop skill plugins. At the same time, Baidu will also integrate document parsing capabilities based on PaddleOCR into OpenClaw's ecosystem in the form of Skills, allowing developers to invoke it in the Agent workflow.
