Hyperion DeFi Announces $20 Million Stock Buyback and Raises Full-Year Guidance
Hyperion DeFi (NASDAQ: HYPD) announced on September 8, 2026, the initiation of a stock buyback program of up to $20 million and raised its full-year guidance for 2026. The adjusted gross profit guidance for the year has been increased from $5 million to $7 million to a new range of $7 million to $8 million. The company expects adjusted net operating cash flow to turn positive in the third quarter of 2026, earlier than the previously anticipated end of 2026. Core operating income for the third quarter is also expected to turn positive, with adjusted gross profit from the core DeFi business expected to exceed operating expenses after excluding equity incentives for the first time. The adjusted gross profit guidance for the third quarter is set at $2 million to $2.5 million, with operating expenses after excluding equity incentives estimated at $2 million to $2.25 million, and core operating income projected to be between $0 and $500,000. The board has authorized the buyback of up to $20 million of common stock in circulation over a period of up to 12 months, with the buyback methods including open market purchases, private negotiations, and block trades, with no guarantee on the specific quantity. The plan may be extended, paused, or terminated at any time. CEO Hyunsu Jung stated that the DeFi business has accelerated recently, and the core business is expected to achieve breakeven in the third quarter, with HYPD common stock currently trading at a discount of approximately 20% to 30% relative to net assets.
