Korean Analyst Predicts Stock Market Will Maintain Range-bound Fluctuations Before Year-end

The South Korean stock market is attempting to rebound after a significant recent pullback, but analysts believe it will be difficult to recover previous highs within the third quarter. The KOSPI margin balance remains at a high level, and market volatility may further increase. It is expected that the stock market will maintain range-bound fluctuations and seek direction before the end of the year. Kim Jun-young, a researcher at iM Securities, stated that the market will continue to be in a range-bound phase, which may extend until year-end. A high margin balance indicates that high market volatility could amplify index fluctuations, and if the index declines further, there is a need to be cautious of credit sell-off risks triggered by margin calls.
