Memebook Secures $1 Million Seed Investment

The Solana ecosystem social application Memebook has secured a seed investment of $1 million. TOF Ventures participated in this investment. Memebook is an Instagram-like social app based on Solana, allowing users to sign up with their Solana wallet and share photos, videos, and text posts. Unlike traditional social media, Memebook uses the wallet as the starting point for registration and verification, incorporating a wallet-based identity verification system. Cryptocurrency wallets serve as tools for managing assets and accounts on the blockchain network, and using them as a means of authentication allows users to connect with on-chain accounts without a separate account system. Memebook also offers a verification system for Solana mobile users and other Solana wallets, connecting social content, mobile devices, and wallet accounts into a single user flow. This service represents an attempt to broaden the scope of consumer applications within the Solana ecosystem, emphasizing familiar social media usage patterns of photo and video sharing over transactions or DeFi functionalities. However, the wallet-centric registration method differs from typical social media in that users must understand wallet management and verification processes. How Memebook's verification system implements these procedures will be key to the expansion of the service.
