Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI has denied speculation that it would apply for an initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong in August and raise $3 billion. On the 3rd, Moonshot AI stated that the reports regarding its Hong Kong IPO application and $3 billion fundraising are "not true." It remains unconfirmed whether the company has completely denied the previously reported listing review. The possibility of Moonshot AI's listing in Hong Kong has been raised multiple times. Reuters reported on July 20 that the company is restructuring its overseas business ahead of the IPO and is discussing related plans with Goldman Sachs and China International Capital Corporation (CICC). Bloomberg reported that Moonshot AI is in the early stages of reviewing a Hong Kong IPO and has been in contact with CICC and Goldman Sachs. Founded in early 2023, Moonshot AI operates the chatbot Kimi. The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on July 22 that Moonshot AI completed an investment round based on a valuation of $30 billion and may pursue a follow-up round in August. In June, Moonshot AI also warned about misinformation related to fundraising. This matter has limited direct connections to the Korean crypto market. Moonshot AI is not a blockchain project or a token issuer.
