The Swiss National Bank's holdings of US equities reached a record high in the second quarter of 2026. As of June 30, the market value of stocks from over 2,300 US-listed companies held by the Swiss National Bank amounted to $191.4 billion, an increase of over 10% from the previous quarter. The allocation of US stock assets within the Swiss National Bank's foreign exchange reserves continues to expand, with major investments including Nvidia, Apple, and Microsoft. The bank also holds $716.6 million worth of shares in defense software company Palantir. Despite requests from investors to sell approximately $1.1 billion of its Palantir holdings, the Swiss National Bank declined. This record holding size reflects the Swiss National Bank's significant exposure to the US stock market in its global asset allocation. The 13F filings only disclose holdings in US-listed stocks and do not include the entire foreign exchange reserve investment portfolio, nor do they represent the central bank's recent trading activities.
