The Zondacrypto Scandal Expands: This Time Involving Notable MPs

By: bithub.pl|09/25/2026 15:00:00

Onet published an article stating that PiS MPs allegedly worked on cryptocurrency market regulations in Poland with Przemysław Kral, the president of the collapsed Zondacrypto exchange. A controversy erupted on X regarding the truth of this claim and who is responsible.

Did the President of Zondacrypto Draft the Cryptocurrency Bill?

Onet claims that "before submitting amendments to the bill on crypto-assets, Michał Moskal from PiS consulted their provisions with Przemysław Kral." Is this true? Independent MP (formerly with PiS) Janusz Kowalski asserts that it is. In his post, he described how everything was supposed to unfold.

"The amendments I prepared independently, together with lawyers from the PiS Parliamentary Club and experts from the parliamentary team 'Simple Taxes', ended up without my knowledge (...) with Przemysław Kral through MP Michał Moskal and former CBA agent Artur Chodziński," reads the politician's post.

Very important text. Now everything is clear.

  1. The amendments I prepared independently, together with lawyers from the Parliamentary Club @pisorgpl and experts @PodatkiProste, ended up without my knowledge and @mblaszczak with... Przemysław Kral through MP Michał Moskal...

However, this is not where the matter ends. MP Moskal also commented on the article, claiming that "the amendments to the cryptocurrency market bill were not prepared" by him. He stated that he "did not participate in the work on their content, did not propose the solutions contained in them, nor did he influence their shape in any way." He alleged that MP Janusz Kowalski was behind them.

Nevertheless, he signed the amendments and previously consulted their content "with individuals collaborating with the foundation he is involved with, asking for their substantive assessment." "I also familiarized myself with the content of the amendments prepared by MP Kowalski and had no comments or objections. I shared the assessment that the proposed solutions are substantively justified, which is why I decided to sign the amendments in the version prepared by MP Kowalski," he added in his post.

He claimed to have contacted Kral only once in his life, allegedly does not have his phone number or email address. He also stated that he "did not conduct any correspondence or communication with him through other channels." Summarizing everything, he added that he did not prepare the amendments in collaboration with Kral.

Yet, this did not conclude the matter, as Kowalski shared his post with his comment, suggesting that his then-colleague from the parliamentary benches "without his knowledge and that of the PiS Parliamentary Club passed the amendments to Mr. Chodziński, which he showed to Kral." Chodziński was reportedly connected to the aforementioned foundation and, as we now know, worked for Kral.

"Your behavior is compromising for you as an MP. I do not even expect an apology, only that you disappear from politics and are expelled from the PiS club. With attitudes like yours, Tusk can strike at the right. Have some honor and leave the club for Ibiza and for passing the PiS amendments to Kral," Kowalski summarized.

Michał! You are shameless. You admit in your statement that without my knowledge and that of the PiS Parliamentary Club you passed the amendments to Mr. Chodziński, which he showed to Kral. Chodziński was associated with your foundation and you were aware that he worked for Kral because you were... https://t.co/s5FK6196PY

What Is This All About?

The crux of the matter is whether PiS politicians did not work on the amendments with Kral. In fact, there would be nothing wrong with this, as he is an entrepreneur in the cryptocurrency sector who knows the market well. He could then be considered an expert worth consulting on such provisions.

The problem is that Kral is currently associated with the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange, which could tarnish the image of PiS MPs.

It is also worth noting that Poland remains a country without regulations for the blockchain industry. President Karol Nawrocki has already vetoed the digital assets bill three times. The government is currently announcing another project, which is expected to be as stringent as the previous ones, and will likely be vetoed by the head of state once again.
