Google Q3 2026 Earnings Forecast: Revenue, EPS and AI Spending
- Capital expenditure and free cash flow. After Q2, Alphabet raised its 2026 capex guidance to $195 billion to $205 billion, and free cash flow turned negative for the quarter. Visible Alpha consensus cited by S&P Global shows Q3 capex forecasts were revised up 11.3% after that report. In a June 1 filing, the company also announced an $80 billion equity raise to fund AI compute, including a $10 billion private placement from Berkshire Hathaway.
- Google Cloud revenue and operating income. Cloud revenue grew 82% to $24.8 billion in Q2, per Alphabet's Q2 2026 results filed with the SEC. Cloud backlog stood at roughly $514 billion. A slowdown from 82% would be expected as comparisons get harder; the question is how much.
- Search and YouTube. Alphabet has warned that Search growth comparisons get tougher in Q3 because it laps the acceleration that began in Q3 2025.
- EPS quality. Q2 reported EPS of $9.11 included $98.0 billion of other income, mostly unrealized gains on equity securities, according to the same SEC filing. Similar gains or losses can distort Q3 EPS, so operating income gives a cleaner read of the business.
