Ukrposhta Ensures International Delivery of Marriage Certificates
The national postal operator Ukrposhta has joined the Marriage Online 2.0 service and will provide international delivery of marriage certificates for Ukrainian citizens abroad. This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Originals of the certificates can be obtained without returning to Ukraine. The project will start with a pilot version, which will expand in three phases to 48 countries. The first destination country will open in September 2026, after which lists of subsequent destinations and delivery costs will be published. Delivery of certificates will not be available to Russia and Belarus. The Marriage Online service has been operating in Ukraine for two years, and by 2026, 40% of marriages will be registered electronically. The full cycle of marriage registration will become remote thanks to international logistics. The implementation of version 2.0 involves the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and other organizations with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP program.
