Dnipro to Update Public Transport Fleet for €21 Million
In Dnipro, the electric transport fleet will be updated: the city will acquire five new trams and 15 low-floor trolleybuses. More than €21 million will be allocated for the implementation of the project. The purchase of new electric transport is being carried out within the framework of a joint program of the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance. The first five trams have already been manufactured in Dnipro by the Ukrainian producer "Tatra-Yug." They are planned to be used on the city's first barrier-free route. The update of public transport affects the comfort and quality of life of the city's residents. The new low-floor trams and trolleybuses will operate on key routes in Dnipro, including the barrier-free one. The project also supports Ukrainian production with a localization level of up to 70%. In the next phase, Dnipro plans to acquire three more trams and equipment for their maintenance. In 2026-2027, the city is expected to receive 15 "Dnipro T-203" trolleybuses with autonomous drive. After the completion of the project, the share of modern low-floor trolleybuses in Dnipro's transport fleet will increase to 65%.
